Randy Terrill Should Run for Governor
The anti-Randy Terrill forces, led by Ed Kelly, Editor of The Oklahoman, have been extraordinarily disingenuous and intellectually dishonest in heaping almost exclusive credit/blame to Terrill who Kelly characterized as "ramming the toughest immigration law down the throats of his fellow Oklahomans." Kelly’s now infamous video rant is so completely ridiculous, preposterous, and lacking of credible substance that KTOK’s Mark Shannon urged his listeners to cancel their subscriptions to The Oklahoman.
Randy Terrill, a humble house representative from Moore, Oklahoma, is accused of something not possible. He doesn’t have the power to "ram" anything down anyone’s throat. He proposed a bill that became House Bill 1804. His colleagues in the state house and senate overwhelmingly passed the bill. And Governor Brad Henry signed it. That doesn’t sound like much "ramming" to me. I’m sure Ed Kelly would be shocked to learn that this is the typical process of every bill that is enacted into law.
Kelly’s bankrupt rhetoric and demagoguery is nothing new. He is the sneering face of the new Oklahoman. The one I warned you about several months ago.
Bottom line? Terrill should start planning his run for governor right now. And I am speaking as someone who believes his immigration proposal is off target. I believe the tough immigration enforcement provisions of HB1804 only treat the symptom rather than the cause.
The ultimate cause of the immigration problem lies in the availability of low skill, low wage jobs that would be filled with Americans, were welfare not an option for the able bodied. And when you add the fact that Americans are subsidizing waves of illegal aliens with fraudulently obtained welfare benefits, it completely makes sense that illegals would come.
You get more of what you subsidize. Eliminate welfare for the able bodied and the immigration problem will quickly dissipate. It’s all about the welfare subsidies. It’s important to remember that no immigration policy restricting entrance to the US was enacted until 1921. The percentage of foreign born in the US population was almost 15% in 1910. It was around 13% in 1921. Today it is around 12%.
All who come to America in pursuit of happiness, peace, and opportunity should be welcomed. All who come for a US government welfare check should be directed and sent back home. But in order to get a handle on this problem, we must insist that all able bodied Americans start working.
Regardless……Randy Terrill should run for governor. His willingness to tackle the difficult immigration issue, take on powerful business interests, and vigorously defend his principles must be admired.

"Tautological" Neo Cons are Lying about Cheryl Williams
I recently received an email casting aspersions at Oklahoma State Republican Vice Chair Cheryl Williams. Her crime? Apparently some misguided or purposely deceptive soul thinks she is leading the "R3VOLUTION." It is an assertion so ridiculous that there can only be one reason for it. Someone is trying to diminish her reputation among a group of petty neoconservative Republicans who believe Ron Paul activists are some form of disease or worse – people who desire to challenge the established order of the Oklahoma State Republican Party.
As a person loosely connected with the Ron Paul activists, let me just say that I wish Cheryl would unleash the shackles of restraint and join the R3VOLS to advance Paul’s message of freedom and limited government. I suspect she will cringe at the idea that I am defending her in fear that some of these simpleton neocons will cite my defense as proof of her complicity. But it’s just complete lies and political nonsense.
The only thing Cheryl is guilty of is not attempting to manipulate the party process as some are attempting in order to maintain control of the status quo. And these conservative pretenders are angry because she’s not their lacky.
Cheryl’s not the one stacking committees. She’s not the one trying to suppress new Republican activists. She’s not the one attempting to use the rules to silence voices. However, venal and putrid establishment neoconservative are lurking in websites worrying and wondering how to stop the energized R3VOLS. So be it.
By attacking Cheryl Williams, they hope to discourage other party leaders from reaching out to new activists in a fair and honorable fashion. I’m not going to name names at this time. But you know who you are. Some of you will be trying to run for political offices in the future. Some will want campaign contributions. Some will need a favor. So don’t be penny wise and pound foolish. Don’t be short sighted.
Continued attacks aimed at people who have a track record as effective and competent conservatives will end badly for you who are in the anti-R3VOL crowd. But perhaps the neocons would rather the Republican Party return to its minority status in the state legislature and be swept again in virtually every major elected statewide office? Be careful for what you wish for….
Just offering some helpful advice.
