A Clarification On OKGOP and CHS

On November 15th, State Republican Party Chairman Chad Alexander adamantly disagreed with my anonymous source that all of that money went to CHS though he confirmed that CHS did receive a significant amount of money from Republican State Party headquarters. Alexander stated that, indeed $300,000 was spent on GOTV (Get Out The Vote) activities and $30,000 on polling. But that only 20% ($60,000) of the $300,000 was handled directly by CHS. The $60,000 given to CHS was done so without a bidding process making a total of $90,000 given to CHS for their services.
No company
deserves a non-competitive, monopolistic lock on any segment of Republican Party expenditures. A bidding process for the work should be instituted at State Republican Party headquarters. Competition is a good thing right?

What's Brewing in the Republican Executive Committee?

Rumors have been circulating that Chad Alexander will resign his post as State Party Chairman to be the Chief of Staff for Tom Cole. A Source close to the State Republican Executive Committee says that a "back room" plan is in the works for the selection of a new party chairman. According to the source, two names have surfaced as possible replacements for Alexander. Kay Dudley and Mark Nichols.

The source stated that the Executive Committee is trying to engineer a replacement rather than allowing activists to select a new chairman. Regardless of how one might feel about either Dudley or Nichols, it is flatly WRONG for the next chairman to be SELECTED not ELECTED. Anointing another chairman is clearly the WRONG MESSAGE TO SEND Republican activists. An anointment would raise suspicions that the Party Chairman is more loyal to the Executive Committee than the activists. The Executive Committee will elect no one without the help of activist foot soldiers.

Let me be clear in stating that I have no predisposition against Dudley or Nichols. Any Republican who gets the job must have the support of the activists. A real election will give the activists a chance to be heard. Anointing the next Party Chairman would be a disaster. I can't imagine any potential chairman benefiting from an anointment.

A word for the wise (and the Executive Committee) would be not to go down this path once again. The ONLY acceptable solution is to have an elected chairman. If Dudley and Nichols want to serve as State Party Chairman, let them be ELECTED.

Who Will Be the Next State Republican Chairman?

If rumors prove true, Chad Alexander will be moving to Washington D.C. to be Tom Cole's Chief of Staff. Though I disagree with the close ties between Alexander and CHS, Alexander has shown himself to be politically astute and a responsive messenger for the Republican Party. Regardless, the recent election results show there is plenty of unfinished work to be done.

Already several names have been circulating as possible replacements. State Representative Tim Pope has put his name in the hat. Republican activist Brian Maughn has also indicated that he wants to run. Republican Auditor & Inspector candidate Gary Jones has also surfaced as a possible replacement. As stated in the above article, others have mentioned Kay Dudley and Mark Nichols as possible replacements. Several have communicated that they would like YOURS TRULY to go for the gusto.
SORRY!!! I'M NOT INTERESTED!!! PERIOD!!! There's MANY better qualified than me to be sure. But thanks anyway.

If Alexander does step down, the next Chairman will have an extremely difficult task to pull the party back together. The Republican Party is in need of real change and reform. In looking at the presidential elections over the last 40 years, it's unbelievable that the Democratic Party controls all three branches of the State Government. It's just completely mystifying.

Let challengers step forward!

You forgot to mention that Brenda Reneau wanted and had backing to run for Second Congressional District against Brad Carson. This is her home territory and she would have succeeded (I grew up in that area) but Cole and Coburn ran Andy Ewing who only knows how to snap his fingers and utter one stumbling sentence. He is a nice man but was completely inept as a candidate! Brenda is a fighter and Brad would have never had a chance with her. So looks like Cole's resume is in the pits.

I would like to say I am a Republican that changed from Democrat because of their wicked immoral stands. But many of the Republicans are getting just as bad. I think the independents hurt the Republicans.
Many Christian women will vote for a democrat man over a Republican woman if she stands for nothing.
Christians were looking for people who stand against abortion and other immoral issues. We don't care about the party we are sick of politicians who stand in the middle and vote which ever way gets them what they want rather represent the people who put them in office. Don't count out the rural areas, we turn out and many are still registered Democrats but vote conviction rather than party if there is anything to
vote for on convictions. We call, talk to others and seek out who we should vote for.

Don't forget that CHS lost the second district of Oklahoma in 2000.

Bringing up old worn out points where nobody really listens to them and
submitting them to the MPC and risking the possibility of being labeled
cynical is what this voting Oklahoman is doing right now, but be it that, the TRUTH is and still is that Politicians and especially those in my own republican party are and always on the "SELL OUT". "GET ME IN OFFICE, mirror what kind of society we live in. "Politicians get in office hold the ball and run out the clock..." Society would do anything for job security. So goes the politicians. My own Republican party in Oklahoma, sell out to Liberal Democrats... "let Sandy get away with severe improprieties and lose more seats in government to people set out to the destruction of the potentially great state." Is that cynical? Hey, Oklahoman Republican Leadership, "YOU SUCK..." Our society want everything handed to them, people want government to finance their retirement buy their health insurance and feed their family.
That type of thinking has plagued our society. That's why "The Message" has gotten out. No body wants to stand on their own two feet, they want their agenda to be heard via government platforms. The Democrats have gotten out their message, whether right or wrong. (We know its severely wrong being pro-republic) The old saying is, "...tell people something over and over and they will believe its the truth without testing it..." Now that's the peoples fault not politicians. The society breeds the type of politicians currently existing. "Sell out" and me, me, me...now, in historical perspective, cynical thinking has created new countries and have changed existing ones...(ex. 1992) Now cynical as it seems, its still the TRUTH.

A reliable source tells me that Denise Bode wants to now be a national
comitteewoman for the state GOP. I would remind everyone that she worked
on the Clinton Gore campaign back in 1992 and that her only reason for
leaving the Dems was their support for the BTU tax on gasoline. Not
guns, not gays not abortion. Haven't we had enough of this woman? No
more Denise Bode. Send her packing back to a lobbyist office in DC and
out of the Sooner State!
